The Merlin is by far the world's lightest and most advanced hand-held stabilizer. Ultra-rigid alumsinium construction enables stable moving shots at unprecedented focal lengths, and Garrett's unique Folding-Calliper hinge extends and retracts to balance cameras as light as one-half pound, yet automatically seeks the compact storage position.

By itself Merlin weighs just 13 ounces (.36kg) without its stainless steel add-on weights. With the standard gimbal, Merlin was rated to carry camcorders weighing only as much as six pounds (2.7 kg)

The new tools-free patented Iso-ElasticT stabilizer Arm supports 19 pounds of camera weight. The no-tools Arm /Vest interface allows for quick customization to the individual operator. "On the fly" weight adjustment frees the operator from dismounting the system to make changes. The open design of the arm has freedom of movement unknown in this weight class. The new adjustable and interchangeable arm post assembly is a feature usually found on more expensive systems.

The new Steadicam Clipper series offers a host of innovative features that have been carefully designed so the operator can easily configure their Steadicam to the best possible advantage for each shot.

The super strong camera mounting stage increases the precision and repeatability of every shot. Stage positioning is smooth and effortless, and with the optional, position-sensing motors, operators can trim the sled's balance while shooting. "Go-to" buttons on the remote rebalance the sled to pre determined positions - and return "home" - with just one touch.

The Clipper's modular design allows it to be easily modified, upgraded, maintained and serviced. In addition, a "backplane" system replaces the traditional wiring harness and supports user-replaceable circuit boards. Microprocessors are software upgradable. Quick access to the most commonly used functions - framelines, level, brightness, and contrast.

In addition to Steadicam's proprietary no-tools adjustment of lift, the amazing G-50 Arm boasts a 12 to 50 pound lifting range.

The lightweight Steadicam® TANGO™ provides long-sought floor-to-ceiling boom range with lateral reach, full stability, intuitive control and simple, economical construction. TANGO™ is a game-changing Steadicam accessory for use with today’s miniature HD cameras according to Steve Tiffen, President and CEO of The Tiffen Company. “TANGO™ is designed to be a straightforward, bolt-on addition for future Tango-compatible Steadicam models.”

The Steadicam TANGO™ balances and feels like a single sled carrying all components. It provides a comfortable, centered operating position, even at full up/down boom. It incorporates rugged, all-mechanical construction and uses a conventional Steadicam sled plus the six pound Tiffen Tango extension. “There are no electronics, gyros, wiring, connectors or power-hungry components,” said Garrett Brown, inventor of the Steadicam. “It also has a large-aperture, interior cable-path for camera/CCU interconnection. With your eyes closed, it feels like a normal Steadicam,” continued Brown.
